Baby Jesus Quote Biography
When Chances Come" BY Willo Lou Clark
If you had been a lowly shepherd who heard the angels sing,
Would you have left your sheep alone to find the baby King?
If you had been the innkeeper - pressed & hurried since the dawn,
Would you have done the best you could, or told them to move on?
If you had been a wise man - due respect & courtly graces,
Would you have left it all behind to search in unknown places?
We cannot know what we’d have done if we had been there then.
We only know what we do now - when chances come again
The risen Jesus will fill you with His life and give you, like Mary Magdalene, a life of fulfillment, a life of faith, and a life of favor with Him. Canadian Celine Dion sang these words in her song, “Because You Loved Me”, and they seem to fit what Jesus did in Mary Magdalene’s life. Maybe even in yours.
For all those times you stood by me, For all the truth that you made me see, For all the joy you brought to my life, For all the wrong that you made right, For every dream you made come true, For all the love I found in you, I’ll be forever thankful baby, You’re the one who held me up, Never let me fall. You’re the one who saw me through, through it all. You were my strength when I was weak, You were my voice when I couldn’t speak, You were my eyes when I couldn’t see, You saw the best there was in me. Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach, You gave me faith cause you believed, I’m everything I am because you loved me. You gave me wings and made me fly, You touched my hand I could touch the sky, I lost my faith, you gave it back to me, You said no star was out of reach, You stood by me and I stood tall, I had your love I had it all, I’m grateful for each day you gave me, Maybe I don’t know that much, But I know this much is true, I was blessed because I was loved by you. You were always there for me, the tender wind that carried me, A light in the dark, shining your love into my life, You’ve been my inspiration, Through the lies you were the truth, My world is a better place because of you.
H. G. Wells, who was an agnostic at best, an atheist at worst, said Jesus “is easily the dominant figure of history.” He would further say that any historian, regardless of theological bias, simply cannot portray history accurately without giving proper place to “a penniless teacher from Nazareth.” What started in a little village, in a little baby, became the greatest transformation the world has ever known.
Mark Lowry, a Christian comedian observed that Mary’s silence at the cross always amazed him. If he were being crucified in the middle of town, his mother would have "Pitched a fit", but Mary never said a word. Lowry wondered if maybe what made the difference for her was remembering back to that 1st Christmas. Remembering touching his little hands and feet and counting his fingers and toes.
On a serious note, Lowry says:
"I wonder if she realized then that those were the same fingers that
had scooped out the oceans and formed the seas.
Mary probably counted those little toes- I wonder if she realized
that those were the same feet that had walked on streets of gold and
had been worshipped by angels.
Those little lips were the same lips that had spoken the world into
existence.
When Mary kissed her little baby, she wasn’t just kissing another baby - she was kissing the face of God.
33 years later she’s standing on a hillside watching blood pour from His veins, from the side of her own son... and she didn’t open her mouth. What a great testimony to the fact that
